Shriners and Freemasonry

Luther Burbank (1849-1926)

Horticultuist and naturalist, Luther Burbank moved to Santa Rosa, California, in 1875 where he established Burbank's Experimental Farms. He was raised in Santa Rosa Lodge No. 57 on August 13, 1921 and coroneted an honorary 33 degree Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry (AASR) (SJ) on October 20, 1925. Burbank died the following year on April 11th. source

Since Freemasonry has attempted so strenuously to claim that they are just a "good ole boy" fraternity that does good works and has a good time, most people will be shocked to learn the bitter truth behind that facade. An insidious by product is to keep husbands and wives out of churches & away from the Truth.

Satan does not need to receive worship to achieve his goals. All he has to do is to keep a man from following Jesus. Satan knows that anyone who does not follow in the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ does not have God. (2 John 9) Freemasonry teaches that due-paying Freemasonry alone is one's guarantee for Heaven without any intervention needed by Jesus Christ which is a satanic lie.

Freemasonry is a hidden fraternal order and defined by them as a system of morality. The first three steps are the Blue Lodge. The first degree is called Entered Apprentice. The second degree is called Fellow Craft. The Third degree is called Master Mason. Most men only go to the third degree, but if one chooses, he may advance either through the York Rite or the Scottish Rite. The Scottish Rite has thirty-two degrees. In each degree, the Mason pledges himself to a different Egyptian deity.

There is a thirty-third degree that is largely honorary, but the thirty-two degree give you access to becoming a Shriner. As a Shriner you will pledge yourself to the pagan "god" Allah who lies that Jesus did not even die on a cross and that God has no Son. This pagan 'Allah' never once shows that it knows the real name of God (Jesus/Yeshua/Yahweh/I am).

Most Shriners are decent guys who do bow to the pagan Islamic Allah. The Shriner is given a red fez with an Islamic sword and crescent jewel on the front of it. This sword emblem originates from 7th century Arabia when the Moslems, under the leadership of Muhammad (aka: Mohammed), slaughtered all Christians and Jews who would not bow down to the pagan moon god Allah. It is a symbol of subjugation. The Shriners appear to have begun innocently enough; except for their link to and allegiance to the pagan moon god (note the crescent emblem) Allah.

The Illustrious Grand High Priest swears in new members who put their hands on a copy of the Muslim Koran. Can we imagine a Christian preacher swearing off the God of Israel by embracing the pagan Allah? They do. The initiate swears a long oath that culminates in a typical Masonic vow of secrecy unto death which includes an oat to Allah.

Shriners obligate themselves by making unholy oaths such as allowing the piercing of their eyeballs with a three-edged blade, and the flaying of their feet if they should reveal their Shriner "secrets" which are all nonsense and inconsequential to begin with. Shriners worship the false god Allah as the god of "our" fathers.

An Actor, William Florence, and a juggler and magician, Dr. Walter M. Fleming, began the Shriners in the early 1870's. Doctor Fleming devised the rituals, intended as a parody of Islam. He died in 1913 and left his family penniless, having spent all of his money to gain Masonic medals and decrees.

The Masonic Shriners wear a red hat known as a Fez named after a town in Morocco, where in 980 AD, 50,000 Christians, including women and children, were brutally murdered by the Muslims. As the streets ran red with the Christians’ blood from the massacre, the Muslims dipped their hats in that blood as a testimony to Allah. The red Fez symbolizes the slaughter of Christians in that town. The Masons still wear the red Fez adorned with the Islamic crescent symbol.

There are Christians, all over the world, who even today, suffer greatly and some have even given up their lives because they refuse to compromise their faith in Christ. And yet, professing Christians who are involved in the highest ranks of Freemasonry (Shriners) honor the persecution of Christians. A Shriner honors Islam and its symbols.

A Shriner traditionally prays by facing toward Mecca, and he must make a blood oath of allegiance to the pagan Allah as his god and to Mohammed, who cringed at even the sight of a cross, as his prophet. Remember Christians: Allah is that non-existent god of Islam who does not acknowledge Jesus as his Son, and he doesn't acknowledge the work Jesus did on the cross.

John 3
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 8
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Famous Shriners

  1. Nice Story about the Shriners. But the facts, however, are far different from this authors' version - and come from four different perspectives:

The Shrine was founded in 1872 in New York City. It arose from a luncheon group which included a physician and an actor and from which a huge, philanthropic group grew. The history of the Shrine became somewhat clouded in its early years as some attempted to ascribe actual connections of the organization to places such as Mecca and elsewhere in the Middle East while others recognized it much as it was: an organization founded for the purpose of 'having fun' which adopted fanciful theatrics from a little-known part of the world. (1) With a name such as "Ancient Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine" as well as some past controversy about origin and a history of 'fun' which in some cases perhaps bordered on rowdiness, the Shrine is in a unique position for charges which would present it in an evil light.

Historically, there is no basis in fact for the charge. The city of Fez was founded by an invader, Sultan Idris I. Idris, who won a war against resident pagans at the very end of the eighth century. All of the conquered were converted to Islam and if there were any Christians, history does not record this. The cap itself wasn't begun until after the second sultan, Idris II, expanded the town to the other side of the river as he attempted to encourage local craft industries. It is important to remember that the dyes of that time were not particularly bright colors but the Moroccans had several good dyes whose formulas were secret. One of these was a bright red and was used in the manufacture of that brilliant red cap which was named after the city of its manufacture, Fez.

Blood, particularly in the hot Middle East, dries particularly fast. The concept of 'running blood' almost defies imagination. Further, any material (particularly the felt type of material used in the fez) when dripped in blood would turn a deep, dark color of red bordering on the brown. With the prevalence of flies and other insects, does it make sense that anyone would dip a piece of headgear so essential to protect oneself from the elements into a fluid which would subject them to all sorts of pestilence - and ruin a piece of clothing vitally necessary? The simple facts obviate the foolishness of this story.

The jealousy surrounding the wonderful Shriners' charities lead some to revel in the opportunity to present those who perform such good works in an evil light. Rather than build something up, they attempt to make themselves look large by diminishing others.

Many love to repeat again and again this horrid claim. We've yet to see any of them produce proof of their charge. The claims about the fez are simply more lies in the arsenal of the anti-Mason.

Shrine-Masons wear their fez proudly knowing that it represents a century of good works and fun.

  2. Thanks for the comment but don't be hoodwinked, friend. There are plenty of ex-masons who have shared their experiences which tell a very different story.

One of such is Jim Shaw and if what he says is true, no one, especially a Christian, should have anything to do with any level of Freemasonry or with the Shriners.

Here is a link to read an excerpt from Jim Shaw's book, 'The Deadly Deception', pp. 99 - 109:

  3. A Jew explains why Allah is the one and only God!

  4. Why dose Muhammad make the devil study from thirty-five to fifty years before he can call himself a Muslim son? And wear the greatest and only flag of the Universe? And he must add a sword on the upper part of the Holy and Greatest Universe flag of Islam?

So that he could clean himself up. A Muslim dose not love the devil regardless to how long he studies. After he has devoted thirty-five or fifty years trying to learn and do like the original man, he could come and do trading among us and we would not kill him as quick as we would the other devils, that is, who have not gone under this study. After he goes through with this labor from thirty-five to fifty years, we permit him to wear our Holy Flag, which is the Sun, Moon and Star. He must add the sword on the upper part. The sword is the emblem of Justice and it was used by the original man in Muhammad's time. Thus, it was placed on the upper part of the flag so that the devil can always see it, so he will keep in mind that any time he reveals the secrets, his head would be taken off by the sword. We give him this change so that he could clean himself up and come among us. The Holy Flag of Islam is the greatest and only flag known. The Universe is everything - Sun, Moon and Stars. They are planets. Planets are something grown or made from the beginning and holy is something that has not been diluted, mixed or tampered with in any form.

  5. The original post is grossly misstated and outdated. First of all, Freemasonry expressly teaches that a Mason's obligation to God, his faith/religion, his family, his occupation, his neighbor, and his country come before Masonry.

So the statement, "An insidious by product is to keep husbands and wives out of churches & away from the Truth" is far from the truth. I know of no Masonic meetings or functions held on Sundays, and if there was, the leaders would tell you to not come if it interferes with your religious services.

There are no pledges to any "Egyptian gods." In fact, the culminating degree of the Knights Templar, one must vow to be a Christian and defend the Christian faith. Other gods are discussed and mentioned, but so were they in my seminary and Christian high school classes. In the lower degrees of the Scottish Rite and the York Rite, it is Jehovah upon whom is the focus. In the upper degrees, it is Jesus Christ (especially in the York Rite).

Most Masons are strong Bible-believing Christians, some even leaders and pastors of churches. Freemasonry supplements Christianity -- it is not subversive or contrary to it.

Throughout Freemasonry are teachings about YHWH (Jehovah) and Jesus Christ, in fact, the name Holy of God is held in the highest respect and honor in Freemasonry; however, Freemasonry does not claim to be a religion or a substitute for it, only a path to further a man's search for Light. Biblical teachings, values, morals, virtues, and lessons are taught within Freemasonry. Before and at the end of most Masonic functions, prayer is offered to God asking His blessings.

In every open Lodge is opened a King James Bible, which is held in high reverence, and from which scripture is read (or referred to); in fact, most lodges have scores of Bibles available and every Master Mason is given a King James Bible upon his being raised to Third Degree. The Holy Scriptures are what Freemasonry teaches is the path and guide through life and to God, not Freemasonry.

As for the Shriners, the use of Arab culture is just a way of making the experience different. In the initiation ceremony, it is expressly stressed that the Muslim faith is used for theatrical purposes only and the tenants of the Shrine are based on the same as that of the Blue Lodge. The degree conferred to Shriners is open to non-Masons (usually the initiates' family and friends). You don't have to be a 32nd Degree to be a is open to all Master Masons (Third Degree). There is no pledge to Allah; however, it is mentioned that the name for god in Arabic is "allah." The swearing in is NOT on a Koran (Qur'an), rather there is a table of several sacred texts, the Koran being one of them, where the candidate is ceremoniously made a Shriner upon the Holy Bible (KJV). In fact, in the ceremony I saw, a Christian Bible hymn about Jesus was sung at the ceremony. There are no unholy oaths or piercings, and the penalty of the obligations are allegorical (those of the Shrine, as well as the Blue Lodge, the York Rite, the Scottish Rite, etc.).

The Master said, "I am the Light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

  6. The problem with Shriners, Freemasons and all secret socities is the vows they take to protect the brotherhood which causes them to lie and keep secrets. This is NOT the Christian way, friend, and you are greatly deceived if you think it is. No true believer/follower of the LORD Jesus Christ should be apart of any of these demonic organizations which are filled with socery and witchcraft in their rituals.

If this is you, you need to fall on your face, repent, ask forgiveness and cut all ties to any of these groups before it's too late.

"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you."
    Matthew 24:4

"Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise."
    1 Corinthians 3:18

"Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience."
    Ephesians 5:6

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition"
    2 Thessalonians 2:3

"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous."
    1 John 3:7

  7. "One of such is Jim Shaw and if what he says is true, no one, especially a Christian, should have anything to do with any level of Freemasonry or with the Shriners."

Bro. Arturo de Hoyos has a detailed account of Jim Shaw's multiple lies in his book "Is It True What They Say about Freemasonry?" A link:

"The problem with Shriners, Freemasons and all secret socities is the vows they take to protect the brotherhood which causes them to lie and keep secrets."

Untrue. Truth is a core tenet of Freemasonry, and every Masonic oath is preceded by the assurance that it is void where it violates the Mason's moral duties or priveleges

"No true believer/follower of the LORD Jesus Christ should be apart of any of these demonic organizations which are filled with socery and witchcraft in their rituals."

There is no "sorcery" or "witchcraft" in Freemasonry; the Blue Lodge degrees, at the very least, directly refer to the Old Testament.

  8. Anthony, I saw on your blog your interest in film and there is a 1970 tv movie called 'Brotherhood of the Bell' which I would like your input - thanks.

  9. It's pretty decent for a TV movie/Skull and Bones satire, but in terms of the influence of secret societies, I don't know that I'd trust it.

  10. The problem with secret societies is with the vows made to do what is asked, no matter what. This is when a person would have a moral dilema if asked something he/she didn't agree with. Do they obey the brotherhood or do what is right? What would you do?

  11. There are no such oaths in Freemasonry, period. Freemasons aren't "asked" to do anything or "obey" anyone in our oaths. Even if they were, EVERY Masonic vow, without exception, is preceded by the direct assurance that there is "nothing herein contained which would conflict with your civil, moral or religious duties or priveleges, be they what they may" (that's a direct quote from Florida Masonic Code; other jurisdictions may vary in letter but not in spirit).

Moreover, the idea that Freemasons have something to be "obeyed" is preposterous. The discussion of politics or religion, two topics you pretty much have to broach if you're on a quest for power, is forbidden within the lodge in every legitimate Masonic body.

  12. Anthony, are you serious??

    What is this:

    Typical Masonic Oath
Taken by 3rd Degree Freemasons – (New Catholic Encyclopedia, 1964 A.D.)

The blindfolded candidate kneels at the altar, places both hands on the volume of sacred law, the square and compass, and repeats after the worshipful master:

I, _________, of my own free will and accord, in the presence of Almighty God, and this Worshipful Lodge, erected to Him and dedicated to the holy St. John, do hereby and hereon most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear, that I will hail, ever conceal, and never reveal any of the secrets, arts, parts, point or points, of the Master Mason's Degree, to any person or persons whomsoever, except that it be a true and lawful brother of this Degree, or in a regularly constituted Lodge of Master Masons, nor unto him, or them, until by strict trial, due examination, or lawful information, I shall have found him, or them, as lawfully entitled to the same as I am myself. I furthermore promise and swear, that I will stand to and abide by all laws, rules, and regulations of the Master Masons Degree, and of the Lodge of which I may hereafter become a member, as far as the same shall come to my knowledge; and that I will ever maintain and support the Constitution, laws, and edicts of the Grand Lodge under which the same shall be holden. Further, that I will acknowledge and obey all due signs and summons sent to me from a Master Masons' Lodge, or given me by a brother of that Degree, if within the length of my cable tow. Further, that I will always aid and assist all poor, distressed, worthy Master Masons, their widows and orphans, knowing them to be such, as far as their necessities may require, and my ability permit, without material injury to myself and family. Further, that I will keep a worthy brother Master Mason's secrets inviolable, when communicated to and received by me as such, murder and treason excepted. Further, that I will not aid, nor be present at, the initiation, passing, or raising of a woman, an old man in his dotage, a young man in his nonage, an atheist, a madman, or fool, knowing them to be such. (continued)

  13. (continued oath)
Further, that I will not sit in a Lodge of Clandestine-made Masons, nor converse on the subject of Masonry with a clandestine-made Mason, nor one who has been expelled or suspended from a Lodge, while under that sentence, knowing him or them to be such. Further, I will not cheat, wrong, nor defraud a Master Masons' Lodge, nor a brother of this Degree, knowingly, nor supplant him in any of his laudable undertakings, but will give him due and timely notice, that he may ward off all danger. Further, that I will not knowingly strike a brother Master Mason, or otherwise do him personal violence in anger, except in the necessary defense of my family or property. Further, that I will not have illegal carnal intercourse with a Master Mason's wife, his mother, sister, or daughter knowing them to be such, nor suffer the same to be done by others, if in my power to prevent. Further, that I will not give the Grand Masonic word, in any other manner or form than that in which I shall receive it, and then in a low breath. Further, that I will not give the Grand Hailing Sign of distress except in case of the most imminent danger, in a just and lawful Lodge, or for the benefit of instruction; and if ever I should see it given, or hear the words accompanying it, by a worthy brother in distress, I will fly to his relief, if there is a greater probability of saving his life than losing my own. All this I most solemnly, sincerely promise and swear, with a firm and steady resolution to perform the same, without any hesitation, myself, under no less penalty than that of having my body severed in two, my bowels taken from thence and burned to ashes, the ashes scattered before the four winds of heaven, that no more remembrance might be had of so vile and wicked a wretch as I would be, should I ever, knowingly, violate this my Master Mason's obligation. So help me God, and keep me steadfast in the due performance of the same.

  14. That is the oath of a Master Mason. I'm assuming the phraseology to which you take exception is this:

"Further, that I will acknowledge and obey all due signs and summons sent to me from a Master Masons' Lodge, or given me by a brother of that Degree."

What you fail to acknowledge (forgivable given that you're not a Freemason) is the power of the final part of that section of the obligation: "...if within the length of my cable tow." The "length" of one's cable-tow is symbolically described in the EA degree to be the outward extension of his moral principles. While I was technically incorrect in that one is asked (in some jurisdictions) to "obey" certain things, that they are asked to do so "no matter what" is a gross mischaracterization of the vow taken.

  15. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...Hosea 4:6

The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry. The whole body of the Royal and Sacerdotal Art was hidden so carefully, centuries since, in the High Degrees, as that it is even yet impossible to solve many of the enigmas which they contain. It is well enough for the mass of those called Masons, to imagine that all is contained in the Blue Degrees; and whoso attempts to undeceive them will labor in vain, and without any true reward violate his obligations as an Adept… (30° Knight Kadosh)

  16. Why put down an organization your obviously not a part of and are ignorant to its true nature? Freemasons do more to help Sonoma then this propaganda blog!

  17. why do you have this on your blog..? its wildly offending and unjustified!

  18. Are you sure? My great grandfather was a 32nd degree mason & my sisters & niece were Job's Daughters. Please provide proof to support your claim. Thank you.

  19. The truth can hurt but it does bring freedom.

  20. Well done Cathy for standing up to those who most definitely will use smoke and mirrors

  21. I disagree with all of this. I am a Freemason I am a 32nd Degree Mason I am a Knight Templar But I am a Christian. I now on the internet and before everyone on the World Wide Web state the following. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior. I am not a follower of any Islamic religion and I do not bow down to allah. To those that are not members of the masons or the Shrine. Please stop spreading your wrong information.

  22. I am a shriner and I accept Jesus as my Savior.
