A 5- to 10-acre fire east of Glen Ellen was burning land near Cavedale Road.
A vegetation fire of unknown acreage on Harrison Grade Road in west Sonoma County was also reported just before 1:30 p.m. Occidental, Graton and Camp Meeker fire crews are battling that blaze, officials said.
While neighboring counties are battling hundreds of blazes, Tuesday’s fires are Sonoma County’s only two wildfires of the week.
At the Cavedale Road fire, crews were “hitting it real hard,” said Talon Sutherland, a Cal Fire firefighter.
Four air tankers were making continuous drops on the blaze in an effort to curtail it’s growth quickly, Sutherland said.
The fire was reported at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews had gained the upper hand Tuesday in the Wild fire, located northeast of Napa and northwest of Fairfield, and contained 80 percent of the blazes, Sutherland said.
A foothold was also made in the Walker Fire near the Colusa County line in Lake County, 5 percent contained at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
